The first Bike Gallery from the Tour de France of 2024 features a limited-edition ‘Fleur-de-Lys’ Colnago like the one Tadej Pogačar rode during the team presentation in Florence on 27 June 2024.

Manolo Bertocchi from Colnago explains the story of the bike which was made to celebrate the first TDF Grand Départ in Italy. The start of the 111th edition of the race is in Florence, and the celebrated Italian brand has made 111 of this bike, with Pogačar’s team presentation bike to be auctioned by Sotherby’s Global, beginning on the second rest day, with bidding open for seven days.

“The Fleur-de-Lys is the symbol both of France and of Florence,” says Bertocchi during his explanation of the colourway of the bike featured in the video.

“Historically the Fleur-de-Lys was given as a symbol to the City of Florence by the King of France during the 13th century. If you look at the Medici emblem – which features six balls the top ball – it is actually engraved with the blue of France, that’s why the bike is blue.”
